Yeaman Place - Dalton Scrap Metal Merchants

Dalton scrap metal merchants is hidden way on the stretch of land between Yeaman Place and Murdoch Terrace.  Someone thinks it's a good idea to build student accommodation on this spot.  It seems they're seeking to get public buy-in by saying it will re-generate the area and open up a public route from Dundee Street to the Union Canal.  They could achieve that by building homes for local people.  There's been no end of purpose built student accommodation introduced to Tollcross and Fountainbridge over the last few years - Silk Mill, Vita, Yougo Canal Point, Unite, IQ.  More are being built at St Joseph's Nursing Home, Gilmore Place right now.  Tollcross Community Council said there are already 6500 student beds in 33 developments within 15 minute walk of this site.  Rant over for today.
