Japanese Quince ......

.... or, to give the flowers their botanical name, Chaenomeles Japonica.

The white Japonica grows in my neighbour's garden, but as it rests on top of the fence I can enjoy it too. The red flowers are growing in Pollok Park.

It has been much colder today with no sun until the early afternoon when there was a brief parting of the clouds and we enjoyed a spell of the palest of blue skies and rather watery looking sun.
