100% Pure Love

My Dear Princess and Dear Friends,

These arrived today. Twelve of them. Six of each colour.

That's a lot of love. And a LOT of sugar.

It feels nice. And the whole team were in on it, Fazzy even went so far as to break a work-date with me to ensure I didn't go into the office today.

It is because - as of Friday this week - I am only 50% on Project Gromit. I am being 50% assigned to a boring project about dull things but am determined not to let it turn Bumpaddle-y.

DEE-TER-MINNNNED.

I have already done my best Shenée' impression in a couple of New Project meetings. I learned a lot from that sparky little person. I am optimistic.

One thing I learned from her is very un-English. Just don't hold back. Don't be professional with your feelings. If you appreciate someone, let them know. Don't just be effusive. Do this instead, for example.

And as you may have picked up yesterday, I appreciate Ellie. A lot.

And she went into isolation at the end of last week because her son Casey tested positive (he's eight). So I ordered her a few little treat items at the weekend which didn't get delivered until today because this is New Zealand.

In between then and now, poor Ellie has been put through it. Aubrey also caught it and now Ellie has it too. The symptoms don't sound as severe as some people I've heard about, but oof they don't sound good either.

So I was pleased to hear that my gifts turned up today. Poor little Aubrey grabbed BOTH of the plushies* that I sent for her and Casey. And Ellie and AJ were very happy at the brie, crackers, chocolates and booze I sent them.

This is the sort of thing Shenée' did all the time. And it's how she turned us into a family. And I am determined to keep it up.

DEE-TER-MINNNNNED.

And as you can see from my cupcakes. It feels like I'm not the only one.

S.
