What a difference a day makes!
It rained overnight and it rained steadily all day today.
I was out on a recce with Sue (pictured) and Frank. We did the Bardon Mill to Haltwhistle route, carefully following the map we had been given. It's going to be a lovely walk, but some of the footpaths were quite difficult to find.
By lunchtime, we were all very wet. Sue's woolly hat was wet and too big for her. Mine followed suit.
We kept smiling and planned our walk as we should do.
When I arrived home, Bob and Liz were both visiting Mum. I said hello and then rushed upstairs to divest myself of every item of clothing before standing under a hot shower. Bliss!
There was a thatcher working on the heather thatched roof of the house near Vindolanda (see extra). He says there are only 15 in the country. He said it was a good day to be thatching!
