We had a break in Braidwood on our way back home from Canberra today, to discover the Two Fires Festival of Arts and Activism had been taking place there over the weekend. The theme of the biennial festival was Fanning the Flames, and I was disappointed I had missed seeing and hearing the young indigenous musicians, dancers and poets who took part. Bill, a Koori elder, told me the event had been a great success, and, although he was packing up, he treated me to a short didgeridoo performance.
