Onshore Wind

High wind and sub-freezing temps caused waves blowing in off the lake to cover the rocks and reeds in ice. It was jolly cold and difficult to photograph in the wind. The light levels were subdued so I didn't have many options.

I tried timing the shot so that waves rolling into the background, with a slow shutter, caused stripy water, in contrast to the static foreground. It took a bit of practice, listening to the sound of the wind and waves whilst looking through the viewfinder. I found a bit of clarity helped to emphasize the streaks.

I didn't stay too long.
