I have a pet newt.
What do you call him?
Tiny.
Why Tiny?
Cause he's minute, ( my newt)

It's the way I tell 'em!

I was beginning to think our newts had not survived the long winter but here they are. Newts spend the winter hibernating under stones, logs etc. When they waken from their long sleep, they return to the water to mate and lay eggs. Back to land after this.
Newts are predators and eat things like tadpoles and worms. They can live to about six years.
I'm glad to see them back.
