Diary of an Edinburgher

Toads galore!

Another glorious day, as long as you stayed in the sunshine and out of the breeze. We decided to take a walk through the Hermitage. Well, Archie and JR did, but I only did part of it, (5,389 steps) and indeed, I went in the car to the duck pond, which I really really appreciated on the way back.

It was glorious though the forest. I haven’t been for ages. The others wanted to do a longer walk, and so carried on to Braidburn Valley. (16,345 steps)

We saw several toads on the path, apparently migrating to the pond, but how they get there I don’t know because there’s a long wall round it. Archie was most intrigued, and rather scared… that’s the smaller male hitching a lift on the female. Or maybe something else…

In the afternoon we sat out in the back garden.

Tomorrow I should really probably start to get my holiday suitcase organised. Only three and a half sleeps!
