Flower Friday ...
... more yellow flowers.
Richard took today off of work so we were able to spend a fun day together. We talked about going to the Lehigh Valley Zoo but then changed our minds and went to Jacobsburg State Park instead.
We recently found out about another vernal pool that the wood frogs will go to for mating purposes in the Spring and we wanted to check it out. It was a lot easier to get to than the one we visited over the weekend and last year. But, sadly, we didn't see any frogs here today. We did see some frog spawn so we think we may be too late to see them all at the vernal pools for the year. Bummer.
Along the roadside we came across these pretty yellow flowers. I had no idea what they were until I read on dollydoug's journal that they are called coltsfoot. Are they weeds or wildflowers? I can tell you that despite serious safety concerns, coltsfoot is used for asthma, cough, sore throat, swelling of the airways, and other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses!
I tried to make the background blue to show my support of Ukraine but it just didn't look right. Thanks to BikerBear (Anni) for keeping Friday's beautiful.
