Cows in the woods
There were six of us ringing this morning. The team is improving and the striking is getting better. From everything I have heard, the people in the village seem to appreciate the English bells. This may be partly because one of the bells that ring the quarters and hours from the church at the top of the village is cracked. It sounds quite ropey but people in the village seem to like it's distinctiveness. Someone bought a simnel cake to church which went down very well with coffee after the service. There was time for a walk up through the woods before lunch. In the afternoon, I caught up with family on the phone and painted some background on a canvas for tomorrow's painting group.
