Maybe Not the Best Spot

Small diameter tree and situated right next to a fairly busy street, but there he was. I walk by that tree twice a day with the Big White Dog and I've never seen anyone working on a nest cavity, but there he was. As we walked by, I noticed that he wasn't actively working on enlarging the hole but was calling and calling. "Hey sweetie, come see what I've done!" She was probably off in the woods somewhere putting the final touches on her own idea of the perfect family home!  Ah, Family Drama!
