An ordinary life....

Over the hills and far away...

We were supposed to be up early and out for brunch before heading to Aberfeldy but when the alarm went off at 7.30am I was not in the mood to rush getting up and showered etc so we ended up having lunch at home.  Not a hardship as I'd bought some lovely Tiger bread and cold meats so we still had a tasty lunch.

Headed off to Aberfeldy just after 2pm.  A lovely sunny day and we took our usual route via Crieff, over the hills and through the Sma' Glen.

Once in Aberfeldy we went to the little shop by the Watermill Cafe to buy mugs to match the rest of the crockery we've bought there over the last five years (we now have the full dinner set, teaseet, sugar & cream and some serving dishes) so the mugs were the last thing we needed.  Collection complete :-)

As the weather was so lovely we decided against sitting in the Watermill Cafe (due to staff shortages they were't serving outside tables) so David popped in and bought a wedge of lemon & blueberry sponge for himself, and a fudge slice for me.  We continued on to Kenmore where we enjoyed our sweet treats sitting at the head of Loch Tay.  So beautiful (pic in extra) and quite busy.  Lots of children in the water padding, swimming and on paddle boards.  I don't ever remember such warm weather in March as a youngster, or even as an adult, until about 10 years ago.

Took Lola for a short walk at Taymouth Castle Estate.  As David put her back in the boot a car pulled up beside us and a man and woman got out.  The man asked if dogs had to be on a lead within the Estate and David said he didn't think so, which was just as well as his wife opened the boot and three wee spaniels jumped out and were off like mini rockets towards the parkland.  Good luck trying to get leads on them!  lol

We had planned to drive back via Glen Quaich but that's a longer journey time and by then I needed the loo (David used the public loos at Kenmore and wasn't impressed.  I am public loo phobic at the best of times so I didn't even attempt to investigate the ladies) so we returned the way we went.

Decided to have fish suppers for tea whilst watching Outlander.

All in all, a lovely day :-)
