Becalmed
Spent the day in Scarborough. It was sunny and still, and there were lots of people enjoying the sunshine. The calmness of the weather seemed to pervade the feel of the day and I thought this boat, seemingly motionless on the sea, captured that sense perfectly.
When I checked my year list, I found I was mistaken yesterday and had already seen a Kittiwake in Scotland, but by way of consolation I had a year tick today in the form of a Guillemot - also becalmed. Otherwise not a great deal of wildlife; some Roe Deer and Brown Hares from the train, a seal in the bay, plenty more Kittiwakes in the usual spot, Redshank and Turnstone in the harbour, and a few straggler Wigeon and some Cormorant and Oystercatcher by the Sealife Centre.
