Camerton Church
If you run half a mile from the front door and over the bridge you get to Camerton Village. If you run half a mile in the opposite direction, following the river you get to Camerton Church. It was originally founded in about the 11th century and historically its cemetery served Seaton, Workington and Flimby which probably explains why it isn't actually in Camerton. With the Derwent curling round it, it had a close call in the floods of 2009, when some of the underground inhabitants and their gravestones were washed away but today in the early morning sun it looks to be a pretty permanent part of the landscape.
Strangely, I've never been inside, despite the lure of looking at the last resting place of 'Black Tom of the North' in 1510 and finding out what heinous crimes he committed to earn his title. Another item on the to do list.
