Special Memories

These charming ceramic egg holders were a gift to our Italian daughter. Her mom sent them to her from Milan at Easter. When she went home, she gave them to me. I put them on the dinner table during spring. 
When my daughter was in high school, she made friends with an Italian exchange student. It turned out that she was placed in an inappropriate home. My daughter asked if she could live with us instead. She spent her senior year of high school with us and became a huge part of our family. She and my daughter visit each other often. She will always be my second daughter. My daughter has enjoyed vacationing with her in Capri, on the Riviera, and in Rome, Venice, Pisa, and Milan, while Chiara has vacationed in Key West, Boston, the San Juan Islands, and the desert southwest. Chiara and Diane are very much sisters.
I love the memories of the year that Chiara lived with us. I am happy that we still get to see her. 
I put the egg cups on the black plexiglass and used an in-camera focus stack with a strobe.
