Rained a lot during the night which woke us up. As I was awake early I went for a run along the rough road, which brings you to the resort. Its along the coast, very hilly and hard work, nice rain shower at the start meant I didn’t get too hot till the end. After breakfast we came back to the room to collect out dive stuff and headed down to the centre to do the paperwork before our shore check out dive. I know they have to do these dives but we had to perform a mask clear and reg retrieval in front of the dive guide before we headed off. Can’t remember the last time I had to do that and I did feel like a performing monkey. Nice reef just off the beach as it shelves quite deeply. Saw a barracuda, 2 large octopi and a cockroach like lobster, banded shrimps and a few morays. You could see the guide’s head drop when he asked us how much air we had left at the half way point and we hadn’t even used half a tank. Managed to stretch it out to a 50 minute dive instead of the allotted 40 minutes. After lunch we had a boat dive around the corner which was meant to be on some pinnacles but I don’t think we got there due to the current. Another nice dive, they also kill the lionfish here and use it for the menu at the hotel, as it’s an aggressive predator that’s not indigenous it means the local reef fish can flourish. J went to yoga again while I tasted the local craft beer on the beach, which was very nice. Shame you can’t get it in the bars in the hotel as it’s better than anything they stock. Had a cocktail on the way back to our room to get changed for dinner. They didn’t have a table for us when we got down there so had a lethal gin martini in the bar and then a nice dinner after.
