Springtime magic
A day of blossoms and rain. I was at Starbucks early after a brisk drizzly walk along some beautiful neighborhood streets, where every other tree (and there are many many) seemed a fabulous flowering specimen, and with the rush of Coal Creek in the background. The moss and grasses are an almost impossibly emerald at the moment. Spent a couple productive hours writing and editing before walking home.
Gracie came to live with Mom as a three-year-old cat shortly after my dad died, so Gracie's now 23. For the last week+ she's been failing, and I went with Mom to the vet with her later this morning. The vet was lovely and took good care of both Gracie and Mom, treated G.for dehydration and helped her get much more comfortable, to the point where she started eating again - enthusiastically - when we got back home. Not sure what the next few days will bring, but we'll keep a close eye and take care she doesn't suffer.
After lunch we drove to Seattle and visited the arboretum, walking through the rain to see these lovely cherry trees (I actually toned down the green here because it seemed fake!), and then the University of Washington. We drove around campus, as Dave's very unsteady on his feet now, but caught glimpses of the gorgeous blossom-filled quad. The campus has changed of course since my time there but it was a pleasure to revisit. Then home for a nice evening and Kristie came over.
