Blackpool

I needed to hire a car on Friday as I had to get down to Lancaster to see a new client. This rare mobility meant that my options for the evening extended beyond Kirkby Lonsdale, so I travelled down to Longridge to meet up with my #gigbuddy @artminx.

Except on this occasion we weren't going to see live music but rather a film at the little independent cinema, The Palace. It's one of those places that makes you wonder why you would ever go to another Odeon or Vue. (Apart from the fact that there was only one person on the sweets kiosk and I had to wait patiently for my Revels while two mugs of tea were prepared for the people in front of me.)

This quaintness was extended (almost to breaking point) when we all had to stand up for the national anthem. But, that done, we settled down to watch the trailers and then Argo, which was every bit as good as it's touted to be.

I took this photo on the corner just along from the cinema. Blackpool is about twenty miles away!
