Tufty
Spent the day in an old caravan masquerading as a hide for the opportunity to watch and photograph red squirrels. They look charming, I don't know how charming they really are. Their grey cousins are brutes which is why communities of red squirrels are carefully looked after.
The reds are quite tiny. They love hazelnuts. The photographer looking after us explained that hazelnuts currently cost £85 a tonne.
The farm backed on to the fells. It was a glorious day albeit a little cold. I was glad to be wearing my DryRobe. The scenery is stunning.
