The Boy Wonder

An earlier start than usual with a 9.30am kick off and the boys played like they were half asleep against much bigger lads who weren't shy at throwing their weight around - culminating in the first red card I've seen at this age group. Ended in a 4-4 draw with Joe scoring one of our goals and the team did really well not to get intimidated.

After getting home, Mrs Smith and Ruby headed over to the local for some scoff and a good natter and I started a slash and burn exercise in the back garden which inevitably involved the firing up of the brazier. At the end of the afternoon all five of us were in the garden, hacking back the undergrowth and trying to get the place under control.

I'm due a Deuchars now and we'll settle down to watch The Voice which is the only thing on TV the whole family watches.
