She talks to the animals.......

When she was three Poppy was bitten by a goose and so was a little concerned that I was encouraging Gordon the Guard Goose to take up residence in the garden. However after I fed him (not sure why we've decided it is a boy but it is called Gordon and that is hardly a girls name is it?) by hand and survived, Poppy decided to give it a go and now has a new Goose friend.

This is not our only animal news. As you may have noticed, Poppy is animal mad and has asked for a rabbit, we said yes but she'd have to look after it, clean it out etc, etc. She proved how much she wanted one by cleaning out the chickens for the last few weeks. So last week we bought a second hand hutch which only needed a little work (new back, new sides, new roof and some legs!) and today we went to see a rabbit breeder in Cambridge. Poppy has selected two little rabbits that will come and live with us in a few weeks when they are old enough.

This is going to be a bit of a shock for Alf, he goes to watch Arsenal and by the time he gets home there is a deposit on two rabbits and a huge Goose in residence on the patio. Still at least Arsenal won!
