Fruit Orchard

I’ve some time off work this week and I’m hoping to do some exploring on foot in in our local area. This morning we did just that, going to Prinsted and taking a circular route along the shore, before turning inland to Nutbourne, and then making our way back across the fields.

The area feels quite idyllic to me. Small streams with clear water from the South Downs transect fields and beyond them, sparkling on the horizon is the sea. The area used to be filled with fruit orchards. Now most are gone, but I was thrilled to find this remnant still intact. I’ll have to return through the seasons and capture the trees as they change from bearing blossom, to fruit, to autumn coloured leaves.
