A welcome change to the routine

The highlight of Ottawacker Jr.'s March break was getting to spend two days with his friend W. 

The two of them have been great friends since their first days at kindergarten, and it is great to see their friendship develop organically. They ask to see each other - and arrange to do various activities (skating, soccer) and then manage to convince someone to accompany them to wherever it is they have decided to go.

This would be the first visit to our house for any extended time by anyone, so we were all a little apprehensive, I think. But it went well. And once the obligatory FIFA Xbox competition had been held, they went off out to climb trees, kick a real ball, and drag Mrs. Ottawacker down to the train tracks (to see if a train was coming). It wasn't.
