An ordinary life....

Just like old times...

Woke up to a beautiful morning.  David was feeling a good bit better so we decided lunch at the golf club was on.

Since we last ate there the caterer has retired and a new chef has taken over.  Happy to find no decline in standards and we certainly enjoyed our lunch.

We had planned to go for a drive since it was such a lovely day but my hip was achey again so didn't want to spend a long time being immobile in the car, so just came home again.  I was to move about to reduce the stiffness and also do the prep for tonight's dinner as Agnes and Adrian were joining us.

Before they arrived I followed a You Tube tutorial and crocheted a little Easter Bunny (I plan to do a few more) and I can either stuff it with toy stuffing, or leave its bottom open and stuff it with a little Easter egg.  I am looking forward to making more :D

Chatted with S on messenger and got the dates of their visit at Easter firmed up.  They will be with us on 2nd & 3rd of April then will head to Wales on 4th, returning to us for a week on the 8th.  We have settled on Sunday 10th April as the date for the Easter party and egg hunt.  Messaged Nikki to let Esme know.  She will be hyper.  She asks for Anna and Faith all the time.

Had a lovely evening with Agnes and Adrian.  The meal was straightforward.  Agnes had my veggie chilli with pitta bread, guacamole, tomato salsa, cheese and sour cream.  Adrian, David and I had steak sandwiches made from crusty French bread toasted and rubbed with garlic, mayo then pan friend strips of rib eye steak with fried mushrooms and onions, drizzled with chilli jam and topped with the other half of the toasted and garlic rubbed French bread.  A mighty sandwich indeed.  Oh and salad on the side :-)

Agnes had made a banoffee pie and when she served it, was annoyed to discover the caramel hadn't set.  It didn't affect the taste - it was delish - so no complaints from us.

After dinner the main topic of conversation was the swift passage of time, and how it could be that only two minutes ago we were 19 years old and drinking Mateus Rosé round the gas fire in their freezing flat in Paisley Road West, Glasgow, and in the blink of an eye, we're on the wrong side of 50, making noises like old boilers every time we stand up or sit down!

Ah....those were the days :-)))
