No Wallflower
I had a wonderful walk today. It wasn't a long one but I took my time and enjoyed the sunshine. The were lots of birds in the woodland section of my walk, including a Treecreeper and a pair of Long-tailed tits nest building being the highlights, although Meadow Pipit was an overdue addition to my year list. I also saw my first bumble bees and my first butterfly of the year - a Small Tortoiseshell.
As I walked by a wall I remember thinking this is the spot where that Dunnock was singing earlier in the week, when suddenly, there it was bold as brass. The song had clearly done the trick, as I soon spotted a second Dunnock close by.
