Pedestrian pursuits
A proper spring day.
We took a long walk up to Heather Farm, had lunch sitting in the sunshine, then crashed out with a book and afternoon tea. when we got back. Made very little progress against “objectives” although I did spend an hour tidying the garden.
I am three quarters of the way through Peter Conradi’s “Who Lost Russia? How the World Entered a New Cold War” which is a rather brilliant book published five years ago and which is harrowingly accurate in its analysis of the current Ukrainian situation. You hesitate to say that you are enjoying a book like this, but it is in many ways a relief to get some insight and it is very well written. Fascinating is probably the word.
Will be dragging ourselves off to Kingston tonight to see Death On The Nile before it disappears from cinemas. It has not received great reviews but we are Agatha Christie fans and it is pure escapism.
