Singing for Spring
A beautiful day, so we downed-tools and set off on a late-afternoon walk up through the Common to St Cuthbert's Way, and down around the side of Humbleton Hill. It's a walk we've done several times before, but always in the reverse direction, and we enjoyed the different views.
Two advantages of walking in this direction at this time of year -
It's light enough to take photos on the Common, which is where this handsome thrush was singing from its perch near the top of a tree.
The brow of the hill on St Cuthbert's Way is a good spot to watch the sunset, as we did this evening (extra). It was spectacular! Very nearly dark by the time we reached the road on the way home though.
Too late and too tired to think about cooking, so we had fish & chips from the mobile van, and very good they were too.
