Trees

I am, some two years late, reading Ruth Valerio’s Lent book ‘Saying Yes to Life’. This morning’s chapter was about vegetation and more specifically, trees. I was delighted to find that Becci had planned today’s John Muir session to be all about tress. The young people (and me) played tree top-trumps, learned how to measure the height of trees using their own footsteps, did some tree hugging, made mini National Parks and ended with tree climbing. All of the above happened in the delightful Spring sunshine. The rest of the day in school was full of happy, smiley people. What a difference the light can make.
