Happy Thai New Year

In Thailand the New Year is celebrated by a nation wide water fight. Which is perfect because April is the hottest month of the year. The kids and teenagers are usually on the "try to get people soaking" side of the fight. While the adults (unless they go out specifically for water play) are on the "try to stay dry" side of the fight.

Another aspect of the New Year is making merit. At every mall and large gathering place statues are set up for making merit. Buddhists will pour water over the statue and say a prayer.
