When you've had two days of conference followed by 2hrs sitting on a closed motorway waiting for the services to clear the carriageway, sometimes all you want is a sandwich.

3.5hrs to do 53 miles is probably my record. It's always a cruddy journey around the worst bits of the M4 and M25 but today the apalling weather and a string of accidents all played an additional part in wiping out most of my evening. 

It's good to be home.
