Diary of an Edinburgher

Bin Find Number 348

A dreich morning - got a bit wet going to the gym - but the afternoon cleared up nicely. Nice weather promised for the weekend.

JR went to her last gym session - Pilates. Chrissy came back for a coffee too. She’s not risking going there any more. I suppose I shouldn’t go either…

I was to meet a couple of ex-colleagues in town this afternoon, but JR put her foot down and said it’s too risky. Which, of course, is correct - COVID is rampant here. The pals said I’d made the right decision - I’ll catch up with them after the cruise.

I did the cross trainer and the treadmill, which, with the four walks, gives me a decent 6,517 steps. On the way home I popped in to the shop to get some oat milk (and Hot Cross Buns) but I resisted the Lindt Easter Bunnies! Actually, I managed to resist them only because they were not on the way to the self service thingies - had I seen them on the way to pay, I’m not sure I would have resisted…

Some good news today is that Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has been released from Iran, having been jailed (on trumped-up charges) for nearly six years. But the bad news from Ukraine continues.

I need to start considering what clothes I have, what items I still may need for my (6*) cruise. There will be no more nipping into town on the bus for last minute shopping - we’re ‘isolating’…
