Rotsidan Nature Reserve .

Today’s adventure was a trip to the High coast (which is uplifting 1cm per year) for a walk out to the sea through a nature reserve.
The chill air , white landscape covered in forest and sunshine all worked their magic and we felt thrilled to be there .
On reaching the picnic spot, a fire was lit and the picnic eaten whilst enjoying the sound of waves crashing onto the smooth granite terraces that form the shoreline.
Earlier I had a sunny walk up and along the ridge behind the house.
The air temperature is expected to rise over the next few days so the icy footpath we have made with our snowshoes is likely to collapse .
I have discovered a beautifully illustrated book of poetry called The Lost Words so am sitting by the fire enjoying browsing through it . I know many of you already know this book well.
I think I shall be purchasing it when we return home .
