What to read on a rainy day

So many books, so little time :) 
Incidentally, if you haven’t seen a tv series called Canal Boat Diaries on BBC4, do take a look at it. It’s just half an hour of a chap called Robbie Cumming travelling along various canals on his boat, but it’s a real pleasure to watch.
