Only in the 'light bulb' sense, though!

Went back to Standen today and it's amazing how much we missed the first time. As usual, all the room guides were wonderful (a guide I know was there and it was lovely to see her 'in action'!) and the kids were shown an early CD player (ie. wind-up gramophone!) which they said was 'cool'.

Last time it was the William Morris wallpaper that I liked best but today I noticed that all the light bulbs looked like originals. Apparently they were made to order by Phillips, especially for Standen. Like watching the needle going round the gramophone record, seeing this sort of lightbulb that's now been replaced almost everywhere by those horrible-looking energy-saving ones made me feel very old!
