This room will never look so tidy.

Yesterday I travelled to site to start my first swing back after a summer of office work. Despite the heat and the flies I am excited for FIFO work again.

First because to travel out here is forced time away from all the little things that you don't realise are wearing you down.

Second because I will be enjoying my breaks, 16 days at work and then 12 days off.

Third because in my second break I am flying back to the UK to see family and friends!! This is huge, I have never done a blip from the UK, in fact I started this blipfoto with my first day of travelling outside of the UK. Will I end it the day before I land? Who knows, stay tuned!

Fourth because after years of playing catch up with my career, underemployment, overemployment, unemployment... I have finally done a full year at a job and feel totally prepared and in control for the coming work. Working as site supervisor and knowing what to do! It's refreshing.

Fith because a few days ago my visa was granted, I'm now sponsored to stay in Australia for another two years (ironically that same sponsorship means that I can leave and see the family on a holiday). Being sponsored also means that I can be hired directly by the company I work for, instead of being a contractor. So fingers crossed they hire me.

As for the photo... I set up this office today making my work station and getting all the documents in order, making sure that when the drillers arrive we hit the ground running. Tomorrow I'm back down to Kalgoorlie to organise inductions and rigbinspections, hopefully drilling by Monday!
