Fizzy stuff!
We had a bit of a change of plans today. We had planned to go to the farm to build dens and feed lambs BUT the weather forecast was pretty grim. I knew Miss Pink wouldn't have much patience for stomping about farms if the weather was grim, so I suggested to Master Pink that we could go on Sunday instead, and spend the day with Grandma at home.
In order to get a few jobs done first, I set up an activity I had seen on pinterest that I had been meaning to do for ages. A plate of bicarb and some food-colouring in white vinegar. Using pipettes the mini pinks put drops of the vinegar on the bicarb to make it fizz. They loved it. And what I loved the most were the stories that they were making up; the coloured splodges were the Dwarves building homes and the Elves were making it fizz because they didn't want the dwarves living there. And it rained. Then the plate became a desert and the red vinegar was the hot sun making the soil fizz and crackle. All brilliant stuff.
They were playing really nicely with the peppa pig toys when we were due to go to Grandmas so rather than interrupt their play altogether I suggested they brought the toys with them and carry on at Grandmas house. They packed Peppa and George and the rest of the family up and took them round to Grandmas and headed straight to her bathroom, where George pig had a bath "to wash the jam off his face"!
We spent the rest of the afternoon with mum. The mini pinks did some painting, and some lego and played with the cars. I drank tea and enjoyed it all. :)
