Herriot country

This week I seem to be visiting a few places associated with the All Creatures Great and Small series; is it just a coincidence that most of them are pubs?
Today was a walk from Aysgarth to Castle Bolton and back via Carperby for a nice lunch in the Wheatsheaf, which was where Alf Wight the author of the All Creatures books spent his honeymoon in 1941. Not bad if the association is still generating money for the community.
