A vortex?

No, it's a bee's wing flapping, but according to a scientific article from 2005 the bees wing really does create vortices in the air like small hurricanes... so it is not far off. This photo is taken with 1/640s speed and apparently the bees can flap their wings 230 times x second, which means there are approximately 3 whole wing movements in this photo. Are there any repeated movements that we humans can make that fast? Well no, we are much bigger than bees and proportionally slower, the fastest voluntary human movement takes 0.15sec and when it comes to repeated movements it gets worse...the world record for number of eye blinking per minute is 240, and 296 for snapping the fingers.
