Wild Violet

How the gardeners must hate you when you infiltrate their perfectly manicured, orderly lawns. In you sweep, all greenery and butterfly-shaped purple banners flying and start an absolute riot! Go you!

These however, are on the ground by the car park opposite the house and perfectly welcome to remain since they are upsetting no-one and bringing some most welcome colour to a very drab area.

They were my intended Blip yesterday, before I saw the cats in the windows. So I just repeated my foray to the car-park again today. If any neighbours saw me they will wonder what I am up to, but they are maybe used to seeing me outside in the street with my camera - it's not the first or even tenth time!

I went to my Dad's yesterday - he seems to be having problems regulating his sugar levels again. He's made no significant changes to his diet recently, in fact I'd say it's healthier if anything, so not sure why it should be. We will just have to keep monitoring it and if need be he will have to go to the GP again.

As I was walking to catch the train home yesterday, planning to go for a coffee in town before work I got a call from Hekmat, my boss asking me to work at his other shop tonight which is the one I used to work in for around 20 years. This meant I could go home first as it is about 10 mins walk from my house.

Whilst it is the same building as before it is now a vastly different place to work as it does pizzas and takes online orders for delivery. This means we have about three hours of absolute running like greyhounds. I'm maybe not the best fit for working there as I can neither make pizzas nor fry. And I no longer know where anything is kept since it has changed beyond all recognition!

Once again Hekmat asked me if I can read! He's gobsmacked that I can, and that it is one of my favourite things to do. I think he was raised to believe that women are pathologically incapable! I would NEVER diss another culture just because it is different from my own but life for women in certain cultures does concern me... I suppose it comes down to choice, but to make choices you need education... and in many cases they get neither!

I am back at Baggholme tonight, working with someone I haven't met before. I hope he knows what he is in for! The best thing about working at this shop is that we close at 10 PM every night. I will be back to my usual shop come weekend though.
