O and da da run from the waves
It ended well this time. We ran from the waves many times until one ambushed us slopping over my shoes as I was lifting O out of the way. In doing so one of his wellies fell off into the water!
We were at Cullen, east of Elgin, famous for its skink and picturesque railway viaduct. Recently visited by Michael Portillo on his Great British Coastal Railway Journeys. Little did we think that we’d be here when we were watching the programme a few days ago.
What a magnificent day. Clear blue skies, sunshine, sand, sea and waves. Wonderful view everywhere you went; from the beach, at the harbour and from the top of Castle Hill.
The only fly is the soup was that we didn’t get to have any of the aforementioned skink as we had lunch at a vegetarian cafe. Instead we had a rather strange rosemary and potato soup. The scones were good too.
Fascinating geology on the beach too. One extra is of two of the Three Kings, remnants of extensive sea stacks which are made from a tough conglomerate. I’m wondering how long the smaller stack has left.
The other extra is of Seatown snd the harbour. One of many such beautiful harbours on these Firths.
