The scene is set. The weather is too. The punters are gathering for the races beginning here tomorrow. Two huge USAF B52 bombers rumbled out overhead this morning and growled back to RAF Fairford as the sun set over the Cotswolds. The interface between war and peace in Europe is starkly displayed in plain sight. The bombs over Ukraine ride uneasily for most as the punters gather in their thousands for the races.
