Great Company

Today was a day about people. And the pleasure to be gained in the company of pleasant and respectful people. And live music. And good food. Not to mention nice cars.

After a lovely walk this morning with Holliedog, my wife and I travelled out to Shropshire in the Jag, visiting Lilleshall Abbey, The Sutherland Monument and The Swan Hotel at Forton, near Newport.

We had a fine meal served by R, a very pleasant and attentive waitress who spent time with us, talking about her family, her dog, the hotel and other interesting things. J  was a young man who also served food and drinks and guided me to a wall plaque which explained the history of the fine carved panels in two rooms, which originated in Briar Clyffe in Lowestoft.

The highlight has to be the visitation of a group of musicians, all on Ukelele, playing and singing a range of popular songs. (The Newport Ukes) I really enjoyed their interpretation of Norwegian Wood, I have a dream, With a little help from my friends, and Delilah. Great fun, great people and they kindly allowed me to take a few photos.
