Short-eared Owl

We went to RSPB Burton today and stopped off at Parkgate on the way home. Kwchas thought we might see some owls but I laughed at the idea.....owls only hunt at dusk and dawn don't they?  I guess not!  We had only been there 2 minutes when the short-eared owl flew past. We spent a very enjoyable 30 minutes watching it hunt over the marshes.
