Today we had a walk in a totally new place for us - the Forest of Bowland. We were expecting it to by much more ‘forestryer’ but it was more moorland. We had a lovely walk from Scorton completing a circular walk up to Nicky Nook - isn’t that a fab name! Amazing views from the top - seeing Morecambe bay with the mountains of Cumbria behind. It was certainly wild and windy on the top! Great walk back down via Grizedale reservoir.
We then drove to Knot-end-on-sea fora picnic with a sea view. It really was a bit desolate there! We did love the doggie and man creation though,( extra)
Back to our accommodation in beautiful Turnham hall. It’s said that Queen Elizabeth 1 stayed here on one of her royal progresses around the country! Think we are staying in the part that was built in the 16th century - it’s totally fascinating.
