Oh ye ......

.... of little faith and all that.  Once of our gardeners at OGH was absolutely convinced that the paintbrush lilies were all dead and gone.

Clearly they have survived to live another year.

A busy day up there today - it's a public holiday and we had quite a few people rock up on duty, so took the opportunity to change a display in the bedroom, from a rather daggy corset to a very beautiful plum coloured ball gown.  

I shall blip it at some point.  

Pre-1860's because it's completely hand sewn.  It's such a privilege to handle these items and see how these gowns were actually sewn together.  Incredibly skilled seamstresses.
