North of the Tyne Under the Stars

For the last 3 nights there's been  a light show on buildings in central Newcastle; we only heard about it today but fortunately it was still on tonight (for the last time) - so of course we had to pop along. It's entitled "North of the Tyne Under the Stars".

It's hard to do justice to it in a few still photos but I'll do my best. The main blip shows images of Stevenson's Locomotion (I think) Rocket*, projected onto the cylindrical wall of the Council Chamber at the Civic Centre. The first extra shows part of the carousel, of the sort which comes each year to the "Hoppings" - the massive travelling fair which comes to the Town Moor each June. The second extra is of the River God, projected onto the tower of the Civic Centre (which is situated behind the Council Chamber), and the third shows Swan's first electric light bulb.

Two other buildings were also lit up; the final extra is projected onto the Great Museum of the North (aka the Hancock Museum).

We really enjoyed the show!
