A wee repair to this specialist mains lead - cutting out a short length with a break - saved having to pay about £35 for a replacement lead. Then repaired the same fault in second lead.
Later at home, fitted a refurbished set of circuit boards in those faulty GHD hair straighteners. They worked, in that the ceramic pads heated up, but I couldn't give the owner them back as being safe, as the power indicating lights didn't light and the sounder didn't give any beeps. As this is a back-Blip I can say here that the boards were returned to the eBay supplier and I was refunded. The owner decided to buy I new set, which is undoubtedly best considering the age and amount of use of the old ones.
