Upside down

unbelievably,
frantically, upturned
upended,
thrown into
chaos,
the natural order of
everyday living
spinning round,
upside down by
disarray
and death
on every
doorstep,
no longer
a homeland sheltering
the living,  
the fields waiting for
sunflowers, or
cats upside
down
in the 
sun

This day came in with a skiff of snow and cold sunny temps.
