I spent ages trying to sand out a tool mark on a piece of holly. I failed and when I took it off the lathe, I found the tool mark was actually a crack that goes right through the wall. DOH!
Also, I don't think the lid I made is right - it is too bulky so I will need to do another and make another pot to go with it.
Some days it just isn't worth standing at the lathe.

The main picture is the 'Out Of The Blue Drill Hall'  which is where SWMBO and I went to give support to one of our nieces who was down from The Black Isle to take part in a vintage clothing market ...she converts vintage clothing for pregnant/breast feeding mothers as well and selling vintage clothes.
That meant having to try and find a route avoiding roadworks, tram works, diversions and streets with no parking spaces.
I went the long way round  via the city bypass and missed all of the obstructions I was most surprised.
On the way home we stopped off for SWMBO to buy some chocolate for her fancy hot chocolate maker ... and I took the other pictures.
We also stopped off for fuel (big queues with people filling up for the week before the prices go up again) and then at SWMBO's younger sister for a cup of tea and a natter.
