Narvik
Our penultimate stop. And what a sweet delight.
We joined an ‘inclusive’ tour that included a stop at a war museum. It was so so good to understand why Norway was so key for the Germans during WW2. Previously, I’d thought it was purely geographical, which obviously was pretty key, but hearing about the pursuit of iron and the battles that took place on land and sea, I was (we were), saddened, challenged, freshly grateful for, and newly informed of the tragedy suffered by so many on both sides.
We also succumbed to the ‘walking-on-ice’ thing and bought some cheapy crampons. We know that we are coming to the end of our holiday but we have really laughed at watching others cope with ice so much better than us.
We’ve had other good family news from family at home. We are so excited and so grateful to our Heavenly Father.
Onwards …
